In addition to the 3 or more concerts performed by the PPO each year, the orchestra has also featured in other special events
the Lord Mayor’ of portsmouth's garden party
In aid of The Elizabeth Foundation, Headway and Help for Heroes the Lord Mayor hosted a party held in the Museum Gardens of the Portsmouth Museum. The wind, Brass and string groups of the PPO were invited to accompany the event. playing light classics in a different environment to the usual concerts, but helping to raise money for the above charities nonetheless.

Just four days later a wind quintet formed of Brian, Sue, Erika & Anne from the Philharmonic were invited to perform at another garden party for the same charities at Pembridge House in Warblington.
